I just wanted to recommend the directory of home improvement contractors called Construction Coach. They are all extremely reliable and the site has no hidden fees- my husband and I were very happy with them! Link attached.

It's very important, not to let home improvement contractors into your home until you have everything wrapped up - in writing !

There are contractors and contractors, and you don't want to be on the receiving end of a bad bunch.

Ensure that everything that has been agreed to is in writing, and signed by you and your contractor.

Do not pay money upfront for work that has not been done. Only release payments in small amounts as work is completed, and always hold some back just in case you need to ensure that the contractor returns to complete his work.
