Can the Pachira Macrocarpa "Money Tree" thrive is very low light?

Thank author of this post/commentI bought two of these plants to help feng shui my new home. The card that came with then said " Great for low to medium light areas. As did the lady at the store. I have mine placed on my fireplace wall mount in the living room. There is a big sliding door to the outside in the living room. I would say that this room gets low light.. or very low light. Its bright enough for me to see without turning on the lights but still very low. Direct "low" light does not hit the trees ( as the card says). Anyway.. I am noticing that some of the leaves are dying?????? I give the trees such good care and I followed the instructions on lighting. There really isn't any other place for me to put them. Does anyone know about these trees that could help me out??

Money tree has a meaning and its leaves symbolizes the feung sui elements which are the metal, fire, wood, water and earth. This kind of plant symbolizes good wealth and it brings luck and fortune in business and household. As a businessman I have this moneytree in my house and I make it as part of the interior design. Money tree is easy to grow for it will grow in lots of light and low light. I fully recommend people to have this kind of plant in their houses of even in offices.

Is this feng shui so-called "money tree" the one that is believed to represent your business success (or lack of success) based on the condition of it? Which country does this idea originate from? To me it sounds like superstition only, but it is a cool idea for a project to take up, to see if you are able to take proper care of a delicate plant like this. Who knows, but there might be some truth to it.

A lot of people believe in Feng Shui. I am not saying that it isn't true, in fact, I myself is somewhat a believer as well. I have a Chinese roots and somehow we are accustomed to these beliefs. I think that there is nothing wrong with this especially with the Chinese people.
