Child Home Safety

Thank author of this post/commentAccidents at home are the biggest cause of injuries to children under five. Every week nearly 800 under-fives are rushed to casualty after falling down stairs, over 500 suffer burns and scalds, and around 500 swallow something harmful. However, many of these accidents could be prevented. This clip looks at the small changes parents can make to help prevent accidents. For more child safety advice and information on the best way to make your home safe visit www.direct.gov.uk or contact your local Sure Start Children's Centre.

Indeed, accidents happen to our children in the house because harmful substances are not kept out of the reach of children. This is why it is necessary to have chemicals and substances stored in a separate place such as a storage shed in your backyard.

"Lock up the kids!"

In some circumstances people might be inclined to lock up their kids, not the harmful substances... although it might be a great idea from one perspective... it will result in you having plenty of time for introspection yourself!

I agree that the safety of our children should be of paramount important to us, parents. Hence, we should ensure that our home is child-proof to keep them from getting hurt or injured.

We should keep our little ones away from stairs or any elevation that might cause them to fall and hurt themselves. You know how they still don't know what would hurt them.

Lastly, we should keep harmful items away from them so they won't accidentally eat them.

Home is one of the safety places that we may consider. But of course we must also aware and be smart to fixed everything inside our house. Even though we are always staying inside our house but still there are lots of things that may possibly happen. Especially those harmful substances because those little children do not have any idea regarding those matters and they might swallow it. Always take care.
