| Questions: What would you say if you were told that you had to live in a certain ...cost effective for the federal government? However, nice as the housing area appears, there is lead in the soil (6, 600 mg per kilogram), radioactive elements in the water and the whole area is built way to close to an ammo dump. The military is telling ppl not to plant veggies in their gardens over lead concerns but they say its safe to be there as they put topsoil over it. They say the water will be filtered from the well before it gets to the homes and I can't say as I have seen any safety comments about the ammo dump. This is in the Netzaburg military housing community in Germany. The info about the area was in last year's Stars and Stripes (july/aug2007 and on Military.com) Look it up..you will find it. What would you do? How would you feel? Do you think you could trust the government's assurances? Do you think soldiers and their families should be forced to live there so it will save money? What about long term health concerns in the future that will cost more in the long run? |
