| Questions: Best home Wifi security? The Internet modem I use was provided to me by my local cable company. I have been using a wireless router but have yet to protect it from outsiders. I need a GREAT wifi security system that I can control who uses it and who doesn't. Is there a system that I can set on a timer to turn on and off in a specific period of time? I am asking for this because my younger brother has developed a very unhealthy relationship with his computer and electronics. I would like to try and minimize the usage he gets. At first it wasn't really bad. I mean what teen doesn't use the computer? But he is beginning to go overboard. He stays up all night until morning on the computer and then wakes up at 2pm then gets back on and does the same thing all over again. We were recently told by his doctor that his back his severely damaged a will sooner of later need a metal rod to b placed in it. He is also beginning to lose his eye sight. Please help. Ps. We can't just turn off the modem because it is in the living room unguarded. He could easily go turn it back on when we are all asleep. Thanks for your answers. I'm not trying to shut him off completely. Nor am I trying to control him. It is a decision that my parents have made to just limit his access so he can find something else to do. Like go outside. He goes outside once a week. On Tuesdays when we go out at a family. And even then he is playing with his zune. We would just like him to find healthier alternatives to the computer. That's all. |
