| Article: DIY: Air-con Maintenance (Part 2) The evaporator is the large aluminum and copper panel inside an air conditioner (for window types, the part that looks like a car radiator). It is the part that does the cooling. Smaller dust particles that passes through filter can build up in this part, or when the filter is really full of dirt. You don't want this, the trick is using a soft brush or an old toothbrush to take out the dust and lint.
