Yahoo! Answers: What causes stains around a ceiling vent? I noticed a small stain on the ceiling around a vent in the kitchen. It's a one-story home (approx. 6 years old), so this is right below the attic. I'm wondering if this is something I should call a heating & AC repair guy, a general handyman, pest control guy, etc.? I'm on a bit of a budget, so I'm willing to fix it myself if this is something that it's too complication or requires special tools. If not, I'd appreciate any advice on what the cause may be and what type of repair service I should call. Thanks. Open Question: What causes stains around a ceiling vent?
